The teaching outcomes of phase learning teaching method in Fundamental Nursing

Objective To evaluate the teaching outcomes of phase learning teaching method in Fundamental Nursing among baccalaureate nursing students.Methods A convenience sample of 116 baccalaureate nursing students were assigned to experimental group(n=57) and control group(n=59).The students in the experimental group received phase learning teaching method in Fundamental Nursing,while the students in the control group received conventional teaching methods.The teaching outcomes were compared between the two groups.Results the scores of knowledge and skills in Fundamental Nursing during the second learning phase and the score of pre-graduation test in the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P0.01),especially in the dimension of data collection,documentation writing and critical thinking(P0.05).Conclusion The phase learning teaching method is proved to be feasible and effective in Fundamental Nursing.
