英语专业大学生写作中句法复杂度发展实证研究

  句法复杂度,指语法单位的变化和复杂程度(Ortega 2003),是衡量英语学习者写作发展和写作能力的一项重要指标。自从20世纪70年代以来,二语句法复杂度的研究主要聚焦在学习者句法复杂度发展模式上。近年来,国内的句法复杂度研究也越来越多,但同国外研究相比,国内研究缺少多维度大样本的句法复杂度量化研究。同时,国内很少以英语本族语学习者为基准来研究中国英语专业学生的句法复杂度发展情况。本研究基于180篇某大学英语专业学生的限时议论文,大一,大二,大三学生各60篇,以及40篇选自于《浪漫英语本族学习者语料》(LOCNESS)中的美国大学生的限时议论文,采用10个句法复杂度测量指标进行了研究,这10个指标包含单位长度,并列结构使用量,从句使用量以及短语复杂程度四个维度。本研究旨在探讨中国英语专业一至三年级学生英语写作中的句法复杂度发展模式,句法复杂度与写作质量之间的相关性,以及与英语本族语学习者相比,作为高水平学习者的英语专业大三学生的句法复杂度能力。研究结果发现:第一,一至三年级的英语专业大学生在6个句法复杂度指标上具有显著性差异,包括句子长度,T单位长度,每个子句中的并列短语数量,每个T...
