“信己之思”：试论爱默生思想中的“天才”

本文旨在讨论爱默生思想中的“天才”概念。拉尔夫·沃尔多·爱默生始终强调人的发展,而“天才”作为实现自我的人,能较好地诠释人的发展,更能较好地诠释爱默生的思想。通过阅读爱默生的随笔,本文发现天才有三个基本特质:自立、灵性和创造力。就研究方法而言,本文采用文本分析法分析爱默生的随笔,尤其是针对有随笔中含有“天才”这一词的文本进行分析,总结出了天才所必需具备的三个品质。“天才”的自立,在于相信自己的思想,即便被世人排斥,“天才”依然坚信自己的思想是对的,是有利于全人类的。“天才”的灵性,在于“天才”拥有单纯的灵魂。灵魂越单纯,思想就越单纯,也就越容易接到宇宙法则的启示,否则杂思太多,就会被自己的杂思阻碍,不易接到宇宙法则的启示。“天才”的创造力,在于“天才”依托单纯的灵魂进行创造,将自己的思想呈现给世人。本文对“天才”的三个特质进一步分析,一方面从微观的角度探讨三个特质(自立、灵性和创造力)内在的逻辑关系,三者相互联系,以证明三者是“天才”必不可少的特质。另一方面从宏观的角度,试在爱默生的思想体系中探讨“天才”,论证其在爱默生思想体系中的重要性。这部分内容首先论述了天才和“代表人物”、“人才...
