布迪厄社会学视角下许渊冲《论语》英译研究

许渊冲是中国当代著名的翻译家,他在中国文化典籍翻译方面做出了杰出的贡献,其《论语》英译本便是经典译作之一。在英美文化强势的背景下,该作品却在西方世界广受好评,引起了学者们的极大关注。在当前中国文化“走出去”的背景下,探究许渊冲《论语》英译本畅销背后的深层原因,对促进中国文化的对外传播具有重要的现实意义。20世纪90年代,翻译研究领域迎来了社会学这一新的转向,在诸多社会学家的理论中,布迪厄社会学理论的引用频次最高。布迪厄社会学理论的核心概念是场域、惯习和资本,该理论打破了传统社会学的主客观对立,强调个人行为与社会实践的双向构建。将布迪厄社会学理论应用于翻译研究探索译者翻译选择的社会学因素,考察译者的翻译活动与社会环境的关系,有助于更好地解读特定时期中的译者行为。本文依据布迪厄社会学理论分析许渊冲《论语》英译本,借助布迪厄社会学中的核心概念来考察许渊冲《论语》的英译过程。首先,从社会场域、文学场域和翻译场域分析其对许渊冲《论语》翻译的影响,发现译者当时的翻译选择与政治、经济和文化等密切相关。21世纪后,随着中国的迅速崛起,越来越多的外国人渴望了解中国,中国也迫切需要将自己的文化价值理念传播...
