福克纳小说《押沙龙，押沙龙

　　威廉·福克纳是美国文学史上一位非常著名的现代主义作家。本文通过对在其名著《押沙龙，押沙龙!》的后现代主义手法的研究表明，福克纳也是一位后现代主义大家。 一九九九年在福克纳家乡召开的福克纳年会以《福克纳与后现代主义》为题，旨在敦促人们去研究作为小说技巧实验家福克纳的后现代主义思想。二十世纪四、五十年代后现代主义开始崭露头角，可是在此之前的三十年代福克纳已经在他的作品中广泛地运用后现代主义思想和技巧。这篇论文首先对现代主义和后现代主义作一个大概的比较，表明两者的最大不同在于其在作品当中运用那些思想和技巧的程度。这个可以从后现代主义者和现代主义者他们的口号当中看得出来，前者倡导“求新”，后者强调“求异”，一字之差反映了后现代主义者的基本思想：他们更注重事物变化的本质。同时这篇论文也指出了后现代主义的三个特征：（1）不确定性广泛存在于后现代主义的作品当中，是因为后现代主义者对语言、有机世界、认知世界感到怀疑；（2）后现代主义毫不隐瞒其对文本当中的权威对话感到怀疑，所以，作为对权威之一的父权的反对是后现代主义作品的特征；（3）许多后现代主义者，尤其是元小说主义者表达了对语言本身和口头叙述的...
