弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫《达洛维太太》中主要人物的身份危机

英国现代作家弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫的小说《达洛维太太》描述了两个分属不同阶级的人物:代表上层阶级的下议院议员太太克拉丽莎·达洛维,代表平民阶级的一战退伍老兵赛普帝莫斯·沃伦·史密斯。前者精神健全;后者则患有精神病。这两个人物从来没有见过面,但小说却安排他们在某些时刻处于同一个场景,或通过一系列的人或物完成他们之间的转换。小说通过双重线索的并行将男与女、生与死、理性与疯狂、上层社会和下层社会数个二元对立的元素分别赋予克拉丽莎和赛普帝莫斯,从而揭示他们身份认同上的危机。在作品中,看似对立、矛盾的两位主要人物却有着相同的孤独感、恐惧感和异化感。他们都认为自己身处一个不安全的环境中,经常会想到死亡,同时也认为自己对人生与生命没有掌控力。克拉丽莎虽然是议员的太太,却不能被上层社会完全接纳,加上她的丈夫对她的不理解以及女儿的疏离导致了她的异化感的产生。赛普帝莫斯得不到妻子的关爱,同时还要忍受如霍姆斯和布雷德肖医生的压制和残害,因此有了强烈的异化感。克拉丽莎和赛普帝莫斯的这些孤独感、恐惧感和异化感主要来自于他们各自与他者不协调的关系,加上社会的变迁,如战争的影响、工党的兴起和海外殖民的动摇,导致他们身份感...
