《晃来晃去的人》中的权力关系

　　索尔·贝娄（1915-2005）是美国最负盛名的犹太作家之一。他的第一部长篇小说,《晃来晃去的人》,开创了贝娄塑造“反英雄”人物的历史。有关此书的评论绝大多数都是关于小说的男主人公的,很少有人关注小说中的女主人公。运用福柯的权力关系理论来分析小说中的人物关系的评论家就更少了。本文将尝试运用福柯的权力关系理论来解读这本小说。根据米歇尔·福柯对权力的新定义,权力还包括微观的人际关系,尤其是一个人企图控制他人行为的关系。被控制者会逃避或反抗这种控制,甚至反过来对控制者加以控制,这样一来就构成了一个复杂的人际权力关系网。本文之所以采用福柯的权力观的原因是:同传统的权力定义相比,他的定义更加成熟、广泛、深刻。传统的权力定义关注的是阶级间的宏观权力,而福柯的权力理论关注的是人与人之间的微观权力关系。此外,传统的权力定义认为权力是压抑性的,而福柯则认为权力并非都是压抑的,也可以是生产性的。福柯的权力理论可以被应用来分析贝娄作品的人物间的权力关系,因为后者关注的焦点也是人与人之间的关系。福柯认为在男人和女人之间,在家庭成员之间显然存在着各种权力关系,正如《晃来晃去的人》中所展现的。所以福柯的权力理论非...
