背弃与回归：对《卢布林的魔术师》主题的文化解读

　　艾萨克·巴什维斯·辛格是美国当代最富盛名的犹太小说家之一,1978年因其“以植根于波兰犹太传统文化的叙事艺术栩栩如生地刻画了人类生存的普遍境状”而获诺贝尔文学奖。其代表作《卢布林的魔术师》突出表现了主人公雅夏在背弃犹太传统文化后去追求另一种文化,最后又回归其传统文化的心路历程。本文认为,背弃与回归是该小说最突出的主题,其中主人公雅夏的背弃与回归主要体现在他对犹太身份和犹太传统道德的背弃与回归这两个方面。对民族身份和传统道德的背弃与回归均属于文化现象,所以本文试图以史蒂芬·格林布拉特的“文化诗学”为理论基础,将《卢布林的魔术师》中背弃与回归这一主题置于犹太历史与传统文化的语境中加以考察,并对其进行文化阐释,力图揭示文学与文化之间的相互关系。 全文共分为四章。第一章简要描述犹太人从背弃到回归其犹太身份和传统道德的心路历程,并简述背弃与回归这一主题在辛格文学创作中的体现。第二章侧重分析《卢布林的魔术师》中雅夏对其犹太身份的背弃与回归及其原因,认为雅夏对犹太身份的背弃与回归主要表现在犹太信仰、犹太教仪和犹太着装这三个方面。犹太传统道德主要记载在《旧约圣经》中的“十戒”中。第三章主要探析雅夏从背...
