“信达雅”原则在中医翻译中的应用

　　中国传统中医是中华文化的组成部分之一。在几千年的发展中,它形成了一套独特的、综合的诊疗体系,并逐渐为大多数中国人所接受。中医是中华文化对世界医学最显著的贡献之一,它融中国古代哲学和自然科学于一体。然而,中医翻译亟待改善的地方良多。什么是翻译?通常,虽然不能总说成如此,翻译就是把一个文本的意义按原作者所意想的方式译入另一种文字。对于中医翻译而言,其翻译的过程是语言的理解、转化、修改与完善的过程。更重要的是,中医翻译过程是译者在对中华文化有一定基础的把握上的积累演变的过程,因为,中医是传统文化的一部分,它扎根于传统哲学和中国文学之中,是中国人民长期以来治疗疾病的经验的总结。以往关于中医翻译的研究,大都是在某些词上,翻来覆去地将之解说了一遍又一遍。这种翻译方法着眼于小处,从而忽略了那些词在英文文化中的真正含义,继而引起了读者的误解。而对于中医长句的翻译,譬如在《黄帝内经》中出现的一些长句,由于搞不清它的涵义以及找不到相应的英语对应词,很难将之完美地译出。严复先生在他的著作《天演论》中感叹译事有三难,曰信,曰达,曰雅。所谓信者,务在一如所译之本面,不失其真;所谓达者,有言必畅,而无或不尽。至于...
