中美高等教育专门用途英语（ESP）之比较研究

经济一体化使专业知识加外语的复合型人才需求高涨,越来越多的专家认为ESP是21世纪英语教学的主流。20世纪60年代,ESP出现于英国美国,70年代末,中国也开始研究ESP,并且研究节奏与美国几乎一致。近二十年来,美国侧重ESP教学实证研究,而我国侧重理论研究。中美两国在ESP研究方面存在可比性,而两国高校间ESP教学对比研究却几乎处于空白。本论文主要采用文献研究和对比研究法。首先,它从研究文献中总结中国高校ESP教学的一些特点:主要采用基于主题的内容式教学模式;大部分ESP课程被定为选修课;主要以大三学生包括英语专业学生和公外学生为研究对象;教师有两种,英语教师和专业课教师;教学方法以语法翻译法为主;教材有根据传统专业内容自编的,和从国外引进的教材;教学评价以考试为唯一手段,考试由授课教师自定重点。同时,它还概括了文献中提及较多的一些中国ESP突出问题:ESP教材内容陈旧,缺乏体系,语言难度高;教学方法主要是语法翻译法,忽视听说能力的训练与发展;评价方式主要是测试,缺乏全国统一有效的评价标准,缺乏实训考察以及实际情景中语言应用能力的考察;ESP定位及管理混乱,很多高校背离规定,将ESP...
