莎士比亚喜剧中的女性地位

无论是在英国文学的长廊之中,抑或从整个英国文化的历史来看,威廉·莎士比亚都占据着独一无二的地位。他一生中共创作了39部戏剧,5首长诗,154首十四行诗,足以使其侪身于世界文学巨匠之列。因此,只要谈到英国文学,就必然会涉及到莎士比亚的作品。作为莎士比亚文学的初涉者,莎剧中人物形象的多样化给我留下了深刻的印象,尤其是在喜剧中出现的众多聪明智慧的女性,更引起了我浓厚的兴趣。 本文以莎剧女性形象为主题,旨在反映莎士比亚喜剧中所描写的伊丽莎白统治时期妇女地位上升的趋势。我认为,莎剧中女性角色占据了统治全局的地位,然而由于历史及社会的局限性,莎士比亚在戏剧结尾处将女性塑造成了与社会传统习俗更为相符的形象。文中首先讨论的是女性在莎士比亚喜剧中的崇高地位。莎剧犹如一面明镜,真实再现了当时社会各阶层女性为争取自由、人权及社会尊重所做出的斗争。例如,喜剧《威尼斯商人》中聪明果敢的女主角罗莎琳娜,反映了女性在社会中角色的转变:又如《驯悍记》中著名的凯特这一形象更是有力反击了社会上轻视女性的保守思潮。总之,莎士比亚喜剧中的女性形象丰满而真实可信,其成就早已超越了莎士比亚同时代及以前的其他戏剧家的作品。 ...
