中英文新闻报道中标题短语的名词化对比研究

自改革开放以来,中国需要了解世界,世界也需要更好地了解中国。其中有大量的信息需要通过新闻媒体进行传递。这种信息传递最重要的一条途径是阅读英语新闻报道。而标题是新闻报道最关键的部分,通常位于最前端,具有吸引读者眼球,概括新闻内容的作用。名词化,作为人类语言的一个显著特征,不仅限于词汇语法层面且更强调句法层面上句子功能的转换。然而,英汉两种语言对名词化的运用是不尽相同的,也因此引发作者做此项研究的初衷。 本文以系统功能语言学为理论背景,从语法隐喻的角度,借助前人的研究成果,探讨了在新闻标题中,名词化转换过程所引起的概念功能,人际功能和语篇功能。名词化现象被看成是新闻语篇的典型特征之一,通过分析中英文新闻标题,本文旨在对中英文报纸中名词化进行对比研究,其中包括人民日报,新华日报,中国青年报,新民晚报以及卫报,泰晤士报,华盛顿邮报和今日美国。本文抽取了320篇新闻标题,其中160篇由汉语作者所著,另外160篇由英语作者所著,涉及经济,体育,政治和娱乐四大类新闻标题,旨在研究汉语和英语名词化运用的差异。本文采用了SPSS, C++和手算,针对每个类别中名词化出现的频率进行探讨,得出以下结论: (...
