自然语言可视为一种心理现象。认知语言学家认为,语言能力是认知能力的一部分,语言使用本身就是认知能力的体现。修辞语言作为自然语言的一种,与直义语言一样,影响着我们把握客观世界的方式。矛盾修饰法(oxymoron)就是一种超常搭配的语言形式,该词源于古希腊词“oxumoron”,意指将互相矛盾或互不协调的词语结合在一起使用的修辞方法。这种看似矛盾、不合逻辑的表达方式,往往能引人深思,继而合乎情理,达到出奇制胜的效果。因此,长期以来,矛盾修饰法引起了心理学家、修辞学家、语言学家的关注。然而,迄今的研究主要限于其结构特点、功能意义以及翻译策略等层面的考察,很少有人从认知层面探究矛盾修饰法的生成机制。 矛盾修饰法使用中出现的语义形式异常现象不仅是种语用现象,而且还是人类认知过程的产物,因此本文意图从认知——语用的角度来探讨矛盾修饰法。本文研究的重点将放在矛盾修饰法的生成机制上,拟运用“基于模型的语用推理理论”下的“自主——依存分析框架”来阐释矛盾修饰法形成的认知过程。 在矛盾修饰法的生成过程中,说话者的意向内容作为自主成分,在语境和意向态度的制约下,推衍出依存成分。该推衍过程分两步进行,相邻关系...
