英汉时空隐喻的跨文化研究

现代隐喻理论认为隐喻不仅是一种语言层面上的修辞手法,从本质上讲,它是人类思维活动的基本工具。通过隐喻,我们可以用一些熟悉的具体概念去认知一些抽象的概念。我们的概念体系从本质上讲也是隐喻性的。“隐喻是人们理解抽象概念,进行抽象推理的重要机制”（Lakoff,1993,p.244）.人类存在于特定的时间和空间,并且从中获得了最初的认知能力。与时间概念相比较,空间概念显得更为根本,我们迄今所熟知的大部分时问概念都是在空间概念的基础上建立起来的。通过对空间的认知,人类获得最直接、最易懂的体验,并逐渐探索和认识整个世界,并且在不断的生活体验和日常积累中形成和完善了对其它抽象概念的认知。因此可以说空间概念是人类原始思维的出发点。是人类认知其它概念的基础,空间概念在人类认知领域处于主导地位,很多其它领域的认知过程都是以空间概念作为基础展开的。时间是抽象的概念,人们对它难以有直观的了解。按照认知语言学的假设,空间是人类认识时间、把握时间的基础,时间是空间的隐喻。国内外学者分别从不同角度和侧面对“时间是空间”的隐喻作了深入的研究。已有的研究结果显示：在特定文化中,人们认为时间是有方向性的,而且对于过去与...
