英汉时间隐喻及其文化意义的对比研究

时间是看不见摸不着的抽象的概念。认知语言学认为,时间概念是通过空间概念来投射的。在空间隐喻中,传统的时间空间隐喻表征主要基于两个面向将来型动态的隐喻方式：时间在动的隐喻和观察者在动的隐喻。我们认为这种认识过于粗略与一般化,难以明确解释很多英汉时间隐喻现象。基于这一问题,根据对空间方位的认知以及观者面对时间流的不同区域,一方面我们可进一步补充从水平层面对时间的面向过去型静态时间隐喻方式分析英汉隐喻概念的相似性与差异性；另一方面在垂直层面以观察者所处的不同观测点和状态对时间的空间隐喻加以解释。同时,传统英汉时间隐喻以空间隐喻、实体隐喻和结构隐喻为分类基础的分析框架存在不合理与不科学性,因此本文从修辞视角提出新的分析框架,从时间的“空间化隐喻”、“拟人化隐喻”、“物化隐喻”、“事件化隐喻”、“抽象化隐喻”、“色彩化隐喻”和“典故隐喻”等七方面对英汉时间隐喻概念及表征加以比较分析。进一步从文化与思维视角全面深入地审视英汉时间隐喻的异同点,并揭示形成这一现象的深层原因。最后,提出语言现象以及文化因素在历史与社会前进中的时代意义。
