改写理论视角下杨氏夫妇《宋明平话

在文化热潮的影响下,学界对翻译本质的认识进一步深入。翻译被定义为一种文化与异质的文化他者之间的交流活动,在两个异质文化交流的过程中,由于受到社会历史文化因素的影响,译文在力图“忠实”传达原文思想的同时必然会出现一些“不忠实”的现象。作为文化研究学派成果卓著的学者之一的Lefervere便指出翻译即改写。他打破了传统的以原文为中心,以译文和原文比对为主要手段的研究方法,将翻译研究置于社会文化的大背景下,对译文进行描述性研究,并指出意识形态、翻译活动赞助人、诗学形态等等因素都极大地影响着译文文本的形成。改写理论具有广泛的解释力,有利于揭示蕴藏在翻译背后的社会文化因素,从更加宽广的背景下解读以翻译为桥梁的跨文化交际行为,因而被较多的运用于翻译文本的解读中。 《宋明平话选》选译自被誉为“中国古代白话小说中的双壁”的“三言二拍”。杨氏夫妇（杨宪益与戴乃迭）从中选取若干故事,编译而成的《宋明平话选》被杨宪益称为“最满意的作品”,杨氏夫妇的翻译,尤其是他们在中译英方面所作的大量工作,在我国翻译界久享盛誉,以此文本为研究对象对于当前日益发展的典籍英译可以提供一定的借鉴作用。另一方面,长期以来对...
