英汉多义词“Head/头”的认知对比研究

  词是语言中最基础的单位,而词汇的核心是意义。在产生之初,词都是单义的,随着对外部世界认识的加深及认知的驱动,人们开始对词的基本义进行扩展,一词多义现象应运而生。很多学者从不同角度对这一现象进行了探讨,然而大部分研究都是从词义延伸的外部原因进行分析,忽略了语义的内部联系。身体作为认知载体在人类认知世界的过程中起着核心作用。作为人类最重要的器官之一,“head/头”使人具有思考,认知和判断的能力,为人们感知世界提供了最基础的认知方式,但语言学对于“head/头”的认知研究却不多。认知语言学家对一词多义的研究重点大多在其背后的认知机制,认为一词多义是在认知范畴化和概念化的基础上,通过隐喻、转喻机制而产生的认知产物。两者的工作机制存在着差异,但实际两者界限模糊且相互交融。现有的研究大多过分强调概念隐喻的作用,忽视了概念转喻的基础性功能,也很少从两者交互作用的角度分析人体词多义现象的认知过程。本文拟立足前人研究,在概念隐喻和概念转喻理论框架基础上,结合Goossens的隐转喻相互作用理论框架,探索人体词“head/头”一词多义的认知机制。首先基于四本权威的英汉词典收集语料,采用定量与定性相结合的...
