模糊限制语在劳动合同中的应用

法治对于一个地区、一个国家乃至整个人类文明的发展是不可或缺的。劳动合同是法治的体现,是界定劳动者和用人单位之间劳动关系以及双方权利和义务的协议。在现代社会,每个人几乎都不可避免要接触到劳动合同。自20世纪70年代以来,模糊限制语已经成为一种有效的语用策略。它们经常被用来模糊语言或者使语言更加精准。模糊限制语存在于各类文本中,劳动合同也不例外。为了帮助雇主和雇员、劳动合同撰写者和商务英语学习者理解和使用模糊限制语,本文对劳动合同中使用的模糊限制语进行了定量和定性分析,以探讨模糊限制语如何发挥作用并促进劳动合同的达成。由于模糊限制语可以被视为一种适应交际目的的语言选择,因此采用了Verschueren的顺应理论。本文从物理世界、社会世界和心理世界这三个语境关联的角度阐释了四种模糊限制语在劳动合同中的作用及其功能。作者首先建立了一个劳动合同语料库（简称CLC）。它由美国证券交易委员会提供的30份劳动合同组成,涉及制造业、服务业、高科技和旅游业等不同行业的公司或组织。根据Brown和Levinson提出的模糊限制语的定义和Prince对其的分类,CLC中的所有模糊限制语都被识别并归类为四种类型...
