交传中读笔记与源语理解方式对译文中脱离源语语言外壳现象影响的实证研究

  鉴于脱离源语语言外壳(“脱壳”)转瞬即逝、难以捕捉,研究者们会通过口译中的理解或重组过程间接地表现或量化这一现象,但尚无人探究由脱壳表现的理解和重组过程之间的关系。另外,笔记作为交替传译模式的重要特征,却鲜用于实证研究中探索译员的认知过程,更少有研究将读笔记脱离笔记过程单独研究。本研究意在探究:(1)双语能力和言外知识不足的学生译员对源语的理解方式,即当能力无法实现释意理论描述的理想状态时,学生译员对源语的理解是否是基于源语意思,而其对源语意思的理解是否具有瞬时性的;(2)源语的理解方式对学生译员译文中脱壳现象的影响;以及(3)读笔记对学生译员译文中脱壳现象的影响。笔者邀请了16位中国学生译员参加一项英译汉的交传实验。研究结果表明学生译员对源语的理解部分基于源语意思,不过其对源语意思的理解确实具有瞬时性。另外,源语的理解方式和脱离笔记产出与学生译员译文中脱壳现象无明显关联。三个研究问题的实验结果能够验证口译教师针对源语理解和笔记的训练方法是否正确,具有教学意义。围绕前两个个问题的讨论有助于发现由脱壳表现的理解和重组过程之间的关系。
