【摘要】：本文主要探讨二语习得过程中语言迁移现象的本质,从而找出一条能促进二语学习,提高二语教学质量的有效途径。 在二语习得研究领域,语言迁移一直是一个有争议的问题。它最初和行为主义心理学的语言学习理论联系在一起并被看成是一种障碍(错误的起因),有百害而无一益。然而,随着实证研究的不断发展,母语在二语习得中的作用受到重视,它被看成是学习者中介语发展过程中可以利用的资源。语言迁移的正面作用也逐渐被认可。 根据Ellis的观点,语言迁移有四种形式,分别为正迁移,负迁移,回避和过度使用。正迁移表现为正确的语言运用,负迁移则表现为错误,过度使用受迁移的影响—常常是对一些错误结构的回避和生产不足的结果。本文主要探究二语习得过程中的正迁移和负迁移。 语言迁移现象常常出现在学习者语言即他们的中介语中。中介语是介于母语和目的语之间的一种独立的语言体系,它反映了学习者当前的二语水平。它虽然充满错误,但它有一定的规律可循。Selinker指出了中介语系统形成的五个中心过程。他们是:语言迁移、过度概括目的语规则、训练迁移、第二语言学习策略以及第二语言交际策略。在此,他把语言迁移放在五个中心过程的首位。1992年,Selinker又在其著述Rediscovering Interlanguage中称语言迁移为中介语理论的精华,强调语言迁移对学习者建立目的语知识体系所起的作用。 本文以前人对于语言迁移的研究为基础,力求通过对学习者中介语的分析,在语音、句法、文化三个语言层面上详细地探究正、负迁移,以便使读者了解二语习得过程中母语所起的正面或负面作用,而不只是强调它的有害的一面。文中的中介语例子系笔者收集,它们均来自湖南科技学院外语系一年级学生的翻译练习和英文作文。在对比分析的过程中,笔者发现了导致负迁移的许多不同之处,同时也发现了许多令人惊奇的相同之处。这些相同之处证实了学习者母语的正迁移完全可以促进他们目的语的习得。在教学和学习中必须把负迁移转化为正迁移,充分发挥正迁移的作用。
