【摘要】:谱碑是刻有宗族谱系信息的石质媒体,以其内容形成的所谓碑谱,是中国谱牒发展的特殊类型和阶段性产物。鲁中山地民间现存丰富的碑谱文献,为研究山东宗族乃至华北宗族提供了新的史料;不但有助于深化谱牒学研究,而且冀望对宗族地域化探索作出有益补充。本文即围绕宋元以来的鲁中山地谱碑展开讨论,分别从其演变与分布、制度与功能等角度,说明其作为一种宗族谱牒载体的历史价值;揭示谱碑与当地宗族发展的关系,探寻鲁中宗族形成的路径和地域性特征。鲁中山地是华北地区重要的文化板块,也是历史上宗族形态演变最为激烈的地带。频繁的社会动乱和自然灾害造成了族人的离散和世系的断裂,也使宗族结构呈现出系谱性和礼仪性的特征。而层累的儒家孝道伦理、石刻碑记传统以及长期的移民开发历史,又为宗族选择谱碑准备了文化上条件。从文献和田野调查的数据来看,谱碑是华北富有特色的宗族物质文化,因其主要集中于山东的鲁中地区,而成为反映当地宗族观念和组织形态的重要资料。宋元以来,谱碑在北方地区广为流行,既是宗族谱牒的特殊载体,又承担着墓祭和收族的功能。最早的谱碑与汉唐时期的诔碑和墓志有着渊源关系,金元之交出现了各种刻有世系图表的墓碑,并最终演变为圣贤家族和军功家族的“宗派之图”碑。明清时期,谱碑逐渐确立了成熟文体规范,而在北方地区的乡村社会普及起来。根据宗族的世系学表达方式,谱碑可分为大宗谱碑、小宗谱碑、支谱碑以及各种变异形式。这种碑刻谱牒略同于纸质谱,具有谱序和世系这两大核心要素。谱序内容包括宗族来源、迁徙和支派分布,世系关系则用表格或线图表示。碑谱序文中的谱学思想和宗族观念,既来源于宋儒所宣扬的敬祖收族的宗法意识,也来源于当地固有的祖先崇拜和墓祭礼俗。碑谱世系的主要筛选原则是以祖茔为基点,以村落为范围,记录父系世系中的男性成员。鲁中宗族通过这种特殊媒介的谱牒延续世系记录,传承墓祭仪式,组织宗族活动,实现了父系世系的团体化。谱碑对于鲁中山地宗族的组织化和地域化有着特殊的意义。以“宗派之图”为代表的元代谱碑,是汉人从祖先崇拜向宗族意识过渡的产物。元代宗族已经从儒学的理想状态转化为现实的生活团体,代表着北方宗族庶民化的最终完成。明清时期,“宗派之图”碑演变为专门记录宗族历史和父系世系的谱碑。乡村宗族普遍以祖茔为核心,利用谱碑恢复并整理世系记录,重新构建了各自的祭祀团体。由于宗族组织的礼仪功能远大于社会经济功能,宗族与地方社会呈现出一种脱离关系。在鲁中山地的村落中,宗族形态以杂居为主。不同的宗族以家庭为单位,和谐共处于同一个社区之中,形成稳定的村落共同体。
