《滑坡：欧洲的未来问题重重》（节选）翻译实践报告

　　本文选取Slippery Slope:Europe’s Troubled Future(《滑坡:欧洲的未来问题重重》)一书中第一章和第六章的部分内容作为翻译材料,探讨其中语篇衔接手段的处理。《滑坡:欧洲的未来问题重重》一书全面展现了二十一世纪欧洲的概况,不仅介绍了欧洲现存的各种问题,也提到了欧洲未来的发展机遇。为了将书中的信息内容进行有序组织,各类衔接手段必不可少,因为正是借助这些衔接手段,语篇内的各个部分才能彼此联系起来,构成一个语义整体。因此,能否翻译处理好原文中的衔接手段将直接影响到译文的质量。常用的衔接手段包括指称、替代、省略、连接和词汇衔接。在此次翻译材料中,指称、替代、连接以及词汇衔接这四类衔接手段运用得比较多,因此本文着重分析如何翻译处理这四类衔接手段。事实上,不同的衔接手段其实现衔接功能的方式各不相同,所以,在翻译时,要考虑到每种衔接手段自身的特点以及特定的语境。诚然,在不损害译文准确性和可读性的情况下,可以选择保留原有衔接模式。但是,鉴于英汉两种语言各自的语言特色及其在衔接模式上的差异,译者不应机械地照搬原文的衔接模式,而是应该灵活运用各类翻译方法,如词语复现、省译、...
